The Penn State Alumni Association has informed us that based on our programming for the fiscal year (which ended June 30, 2010), The Penn State Alumni Association of WNY has been designated a "Group of Distinction".  This level of excellence is only awarded to the upper tier of alumni affiliate groups.

Chapter President, Douglas Kellner, commented on the news of this honor: "All of the alumni in WNY can take immense pride in this accomplishment.  Given the fact that we resurrected the Chapter this past year and reached this level of excellence in less than a year is a testament to the hard work of our Board and the loyalty to our Alma mater by our committed members."

• Recognition in The Penn Stater magazine
• Chapter mentioned at select Penn State Alumni Association events

The Penn State Alumni Association of WNY marched in this year's Homecoming Parade!  It began at 6:00 pm Friday, October 8th and traveled down College Avenue in State College.  After the festivities, there was a program at the Hintz Alumni Center for the participants which included food, beverages, and entertainment.  An all-around wonderful time, thanks to all that helped our chapter show our pride in Penn State!
