This years Penn State football season, while disappointing on the field, was a huge success for your WNY Chapter! Every PSU game was available for viewing at Gene McCarthy's Irish Pub, where we have converted the back into our own Lion's Den.
In response to last year's member survey, where you told us that football viewing parties were the number one priority in your chapter membership, we sponsored 4 of the 12 regular season games with a complimentary food spread. Not surprising, the 4 food sponsored games were the best attended viewing parties, and we thank you for your support. Depending on the day, we had anywhere from 10 to 60 people present for each game. The season ending Outback Bowl attracted 25 people on New Year's Day, and despite the game outcome, we all celebrated the new year in style with fellow Penn Staters!
Rest assured that every game for 2011 will also be available at McCarthy's and our Board will be discussing which games will be the food sponsored events. We did not have a member to head up our Social Committee this past year and certainly hope that someone will come forward to help with the planning, marketing, and coordination of the football viewing parties for 2011. It is a great way to become involved in Chapter leadership and give back to your Chapter!
